Programs and Projects
PNGCC facilitates, coordinates, and monitors development programs on behalf of its member churches.
Peace-building and Reconciliation
PNGCC has led and supported peace-building and reconciliation initiatives across the country. Notably, PNGCC played a key role in the Bougainville reconciliation process during the Referendum period, working closely with women’s organizations and community leaders.
Advocacy on Justice and Human Rights
PNGCC has actively spoken out on issues such as:
Gender-based violence
Sorcery-accusation-related violence
Human trafficking and modern slavery
The death penalty
Through advocacy, PNGCC has helped influence national discussions and policy decisions.
COVID-19 Response
During the COVID-19 pandemic, PNGCC worked with the Department of Health, UNICEF, and other partners to raise awareness and encourage vaccination through church and community networks.
Environmental Protection
PNGCC has advocated against seabed mining and promoted responsible stewardship of natural resources, contributing to national and regional environmental dialogue.
Church Partnership Program (CPP)
Through the Church Partnership Program, funded by the Australian Government, PNGCC supports programs in education, health, livelihoods, gender equality, and institutional strengthening
